UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

Qualification to apply UGC NET for candidates from various categories are as follows. Candidates must have Master’s degree in respective subject with aggregate marks not less than 55%. For candidates who belong to SC/ST, OBC, PwD and Transgender category a 5% relaxation is allowed in qualifying examination. Read the detailed eligibility criteria before applying for the examination. Candidates applying with equivalent qualifications must submit the proof of equivalency as per the norms of UGC.

While candidates pursuing JRF must not exceed the age bracket of 30 years, no upper age limit is applied to candidates appearing for certification of Assistant Professor post.
