How To Apply KTET

Candidates must be mindful about the following instructions while applying for KTET Exam 2024.

1. Candidates must submit the applicatiion by online means through the official website of KTET.
2. Only one application is needed to be filled even if the candidate is appearing for multiple K TET Exam category.
3. All candidates must furnish the complete basic details in respective fields.
4. While uploading the photograph candidates must keep in mind that the name of the candidate and date of the photograph need not to be mentioned in the photograph. The background of the photo must be plane and the photograph as a whole must be clear. Note that do not upload selfie photo. And upload the latest photograph only.
5. While filling the application candidates must provide the original of a valid ID card and must produce the same to the invigilator during exam.
6. The final confirmation must be submmitted only after confirming that the details entered in the application are true and complete.

Eligibility for KTET Exam

Eligibility for KTET exam is mentioned category-wise in the detailed notification. Only candidates with the K TET qualification mentioned in the official notification need to apply for K TET Exam.

K TET Category 1

The educational qualification required for candidates appearing in K TET Category 1 exam are:

• A pass in Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (equivalent) with not less than 45% marks. And the TTC or D.Ed. certification from Kerala Exam Board.

Or

• A pass in Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (equivalent) with not less than 45% marks. And Diploma in Elementary Education

Or

• A pass in Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (equivalent) with not less than 50% marks. And should have completed 4-year bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed)

Or

• A pass in Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (equivalent) with not less than 50% marks. And should have completed 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

K TET Category 2

The essential educational qualification required to apply for K TET category 2 exam are:

• Any degree accepted for B.Ed. application and 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (T.T.C./ D.Ed. / D.L.Ed.)

Or

• 45% mark in any degree accepted for B.Ed. admission with B.Ed. / DLED

Or

• Pass in Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary (equivalent) with 50% mark and a 4-year B.Sc. / B.A. in Education.

The applicants who are doing their final year D.Ed. / D.El.Ed, B.Ed. should submit the certificate from the head of the institution confirming that the candidate is a second year student of the same institution.

K TET Category 3

Candidates appearing for K TET Category 3 are aspirants of High School Assistant in Malayalam, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Kannada, Arabic, Urdu, Social Science, Physical Science, Natural Science and Mathematics. And the basic qualification for the exam are

• 45% mark in BA / BSc / B. Com. and a degree in same subject. (from any recognized University in Kerala or from any other recognized Universities)

Or

• Candidates who have degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany or Zoology and MSc. Ed. in same subject with at least 50% of mark.

Or

• BA with not less than 50% mark and LTTC / DLEd

K TET Category 4

The K TET Category 4 exam is conducted to certify the language and specialist teachers up to Upper Primary classes. Candidates qualified to become language teachers in Arabic / Hindi / Sanskrit / Urdu or in special subjects can apply.

K TET Cut off Marks

Only candidates who score above the minimum marks as decided by Pareeksha Bhavan will get the respective KTET Certification they have appeared for. Candidates from SC / ST / OBC / OEC categories should score 55% or 82 mark. Candidates from PH category should score 50% (75 mark). And General category candidates need to score 60% (90 mark) to get certified for the respective KTET Category.

And as per the rules and regulation of KTET exam, there is no negative mark for wrong answers.

KTET Exam Age Limit
