Overview
Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade II / Executive Exam is conducted towards the vacancies in Intelligence Bureau. Intelligence Bureau is an agency under India Government’s Ministry of Home Affairs dealing with counter-intelligence and counter terrorism. The ACIO -II/Executive post is called for 995 vacancies and an attractive pay scale. To become part of Intelligence Bureau is a prestigious opportunity for every Indian.
IB ACIO-II/Executive 2024 |Application.
Online registration date was opened on 25th November, 2023. And the last date for registration was on 15 December, 2023. This registration is valid throughout the selection process. Candidates other than PwD categories identified as not suitable for the post of ACIO-II/Exe need not apply. The details of the ategories are mentioned in MHA’s official notification. Candidates who have applied within the specified last date and as per the detailed instruction in the official notification will be considered as a valid registration.
IB ACIO-II/Executive 2024|Admit Card & Exam
IB ACIO-II/Exe exam admit card will be sent to that mail id which candidate has entered during the registration. Admit Card for both Tier-I and Tier-ll exams will be dispatched in similar way. Also, other important information regarding changes in exam such as changes date and other updates (if any) will be informed through email. Also registered candidates are advised to check MHA’s official site regularly. After scrutiny the exam conducting authority will send the admit cards to the respective candidates’ mail id.
Exact date of exam will be published in MHA’s official site. The centre of exam will be mentioned in the admit card send to the mail id of candidates. The exam centres for Tier I & II are necessarily not the same. Students can choose five centres of their choice as mentioned in the exam centre list in the official site, while applying. And exam centre for Tier II will be mentioned in the respective admit card.

Though IB ACIO Gr II / Exe 2023 follows the syllabus pattern of regular degree level SSC exams, question pattern may vary. With limited vacancy, questions of IB Exam is expected to ascend the difficulty level compared to the previous IB exams.

IB ACIO-II/Executive 2024 |Exam Pattern
ACIO Grade II/Executive Exam will be conducted in three stages. Tier I, II & III are the three stages. Both Tier I & II exam are for 1 hour.
Tier I
In this stage candidates will be facing 100 objective type MCQs. Questions will be coming from Current Affairs, General Studies, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning / Logical Aptitude and English. Exam is for 1 hour; each right answer carries 1 mark and each wrong will deduct ¼ marks. And no marks would be awarded for an un attempted question. The questions selected as “Mark for Review” by candidates will not be considered for evaluation.

Marks earned by the candidates in Tier I exam goes through a normalization process. Earning the cut-off alone won’t make the candidates eligible for the job or Tier II. Note that Shortlist of candidates who are selected for Tier II will be 10 times the number of vacancies. Candidates who score high marks have higher chance of making it into the second tier.
Tier II
Tier II is descriptive type Exam. It includes 3 types of questions, an essay writing, English comprehension and precis writing. Essay writing is for 30 marks. English comprehension and precis writing together constitute 20 marks.
Candidates should earn a minimum of 33% marks in Tier II. As per the official notification the combined performance of candidates in Tier I & II will be considered for Tier III. Maximum number of only 5 times the total vacancy will selected for interview session.
And a final list of 995 candidates will be prepared and final selection extends to the process of Character & Antecedent verification followed by medical examination, etc.

IB ACIO-II/Executive 2024 |Pay Scale and Allowances
Candidates selected for the post of ACIO Grade-II/Executive is appointed in General Central Service, Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) post. They receive a level 7 pay, ranging between ₹ 44,900 – 1,42,000, in central government pay matrix. Also, the following allowances are applicable.
- Basic Pay – Rs. 44,900/-
- DA (@46% of basic pay as on date) – Rs. 20,654/-
- SSA (20% of basic pay) – Rs. 8,980/-
- HRA (ranging from 9% to 27% of basic pay, depending upon the classification of city of posting).
- Transport Allowance – Higher TPTA cities (Rs. 3600/- + DA on 3600) & Other places (Rs. 1800/- + DA on 1800)
- Government contribution towards NPS (@14%) – Rs. 6,286/-
