PSC Insights: All about PSC Profile Blocking

Kerala PSC Profile Blocking!
The new decision by the PSC to block all the profile accounts subjected to recurrent absence in the exams after confirmation has created a lot of enigmas among the aspirants. There has been a great reduction in the number of aspirants giving confirmations for the April session. And this is mainly because of the fear of getting their profiles blocked just because of the unforeseen situations that can come in place. Till date, PSC hasn’t blocked any profile stating this reason so far. However, PSC has been planning to implement the same since certain candidates misuse this opportunity by applying for all the posts and not attending for the same leading to financial loss for PSC. And there are plans devised to introduce application fees for the exam or to fine the candidates who fail to attend the exam without any valid reason.

When does the PSC block a Candidate’s Profile?
PSC hasn’t given a clear picture regarding the profile blocking scheme yet. But there are chances that PSC will move on with some amicable steps to tackle the issue. The profile blocking might be instantiated only after the candidate fail to attend the exam recurrently and this has not been made mandatory yet.

FAQs
- Important Kerala PSC confirmation rules that each aspirant should know.
Every candidate who wants to write the exam should compulsorily give your confirmation via your profile. This is done to make sure and arrange the facilities for the writing exam for that selective number of aspirants who gave the confirmation. Applicants who have given confirmation are only subjected to download the admit cards and others would not be issued with an admit card for the exam.
- Check the PSC calendar for all updates regarding the exam date, the confirmation giving period and the date on which the admit cards will be released.
- It is very important for the applicants to denote their confirmation on the profile within the stipulated time. And after giving confirmation, they should also check whether the change has been applied to the respective post page too.
- Also, during the confirmation phase, PSC gives a choice for the exam centre or district. At that time if you want to choose a district of your choice, you can make the changes in the communication address too before giving the confirmation. And after which you won’t be able to make any changes.
- The confirmation message for writing the exam is officially intimated by the PSC through the candidate’s registered mobile number as well as their email-ids.
- However, the candidates are requested to always check their profiles without waiting for the electronically generated intimation from PSC.
Caution!
There have been many instances where applicants receive SMS tagged in the name of Karnataka Public Service Commission instead of Kerala Public Service Commission. This is because, the operating system manager in such handsets identifies KPSC as Karnataka PSC instead of Kerala PSC. So, applicants using such handsets should verify and cross-check with your profile as well as the email intimation.

4. Kerala PSC: debarring reasons
One of the main reasons for debarring includes the possession of electronic devices or items that are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. So, all candidates are requested to read the instructions given in the hall ticket to avoid such unwary situations that can debar you from the exams for at least a year or more depending upon the situation.
You should also be receptive to the instructions given by the invigilators because if you miss to return the answer sheets completely, there can be stringent debarment for one year. Also presenting bogus qualification or doing any kind of malpractice can have serious forfeit that can permanently debar you from attending future PSC exams.
