1. Introduction
KTET or Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test is a state-wide test which is ordained as a mandatory qualification for all teachers who wish to serve the public service. This was put forth by the Government of Kerala in the year 2009 to enhance the teaching quality of teachers in government service. This rule came into existence via the Right to Education Act, 2009. The conducting authority of KTET is assigned to the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan.

To be a teacher, one has to be equipped with all qualities to combat any situation like tackling issues faced by students or the impacts of the teaching methodology in large scale. The KTET exam is mainly used to gauge the ability of a teacher in Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High School sections in Kerala. The exam is conducted across four categories as given below.

Qualifying the KTET exams is considered to be a direct ticket towards securing a government job. A lot of posts have been gazetted by the Kerala PSC like Junior language Teacher, High School Assistant, LPSA (Lower Primary School Assistant), UPSA (Upper Primary School Teacher) etc. which can be applied by the KTET qualified candidates. And candidates with qualifications higher than that prescribed like M.Phil., Ph.D., M.Ed. or have qualified other Teacher eligibility tests like CTET, SET, NET etc are exempted from qualifying KTET in particular.

2. Kerala TET Exam: An Overview
The first KTET exam was first conducted in the year 2012 and reckoning for more than a decade now, the exams have been efficiently carried out by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan. The exams are usually scheduled twice a year. The next KTET exam 2023 is proposed to happen in the month of May. However, more information on the same are yet to be confirmed from the authorities itself.

3. KTET 2023 Exam Date
The exam date for the next KTET cycle is expected to be out prior to the month of June 2023.
a) Next KTET Exam: Official Notification Release Date
The KTET exam notification 2023 will be released at least 60 days before the date of the actual exam.
b) KTET Exam Date: Starting and Ending Date of Application
The last cycle exam was notified on 18th October 2022 and the registration process started by 25th October the same year and ended on 7th November. The exam was held on 26th and 27th of December 2022. The dates regarding KTET examination 2023 are expected to be out by March last week or so.
c) KTET Admit Card: Release Date
The admit card release date for May 2023 KTET exam will be intimated soon. However, the admit cards are usually released about 6 to 7 days prior to the examination.

4. How to Apply for KTET Exam
In order to submit the KTET 2023 application, the candidates are requested to visit the official website viz., https://ktet.kerala.gov.in .
Step-by-step guidance to apply for KTET 2023 exam
- Go to Home page and click “New Registration”
- Use the credentials generated from registration to log in and fill the application
- After carefully filling the application
- Then a payment portal will be prompted to pay fees
- After payment, check the application for final edits and give “Final Submission”
a) KTET Application Form: Step by Step Guid to Fill the Form
The candidates should finalize the KTET categories to which they intend to apply first, so that the application fees pertaining to the desired number of categories can be paid altogether.
The candidates should register in the exam portal and follow the steps below.
- Type in your name, caste, date of birth, religion, category, Father’s/ Guardian’s name, address, Aadhar number, mobile number.
- Fill all the details like related to your present employment too in the application form
- Carefully scrutinize the application before “Final Submission” as corrections won’t be allowed in a later stage.
b) KTET Examination: Important Documents Required
The important documents required for filling the application form for Kerala TET 2023 are given as follows.
- Apart from other personal details, the candidates should set aside a photograph with plane background having size between 20 Kb and 30Kb in jpeg format (150 X 200 pixel)
- Keep aside appropriate payment sources like cards/ UPI/ Net banking for fees remittance
c) Application Fee for KTET Examination
The KTET application fees should be submitted for each category separately and the fees once paid against a category cannot be repealed back and paid for another category. So, candidates must be careful while processing the fees in the portal.
