Introduction

Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test also known as KTET is a qualification Examination conducted by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan for aspiring teachers to verify the excellence of their quality. It was introduced by the Kerala State when the RTE Act (2009) instructed the states to confirm the qualification of the teachers for ensuring appropriate standard of education for the evolving students. So to be a teacher, consider this Examination as the golden ticket to boost up your career. There are 4 Categories in KTET. Category 1 is made for teachers of lower primary, Category 2 for teachers of upper primary, Category 3 is for teachers of High School, and Category 4 is for Specialist teachers. KTET category 4 is made for the teachers looking for a career in languages Arabic/Hindi/Sanskrit/Urdu (Upper Primary level), specialist teachers, sports teachers (High School level) and Art & Craft. The first section of the exam is focused on Child development, pedagogy and teacher aptitude (for age 6 to 14). The second section focuses on the language, any one selected by the candidate during One Time Registration online. The last section, which carries the most weightage of mark concentrates on the Subject specific areas where also the candidate writes the selected topic according to his/her qualification and interest.

KTET Category 4 syllabus provides the detailed outlook of the topics and sub – topics that are important for the exam.
