Kerala SET 2026 Exam Pattern

The Kerala SET exam consists of two papers, both conducted in a single day. Each paper of the Kerala SET 2026 exam is conducted for 2 hours and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

 Paper I – General Paper (Common for All)

• Part A: General Knowledge
   
• Part B: Teaching Aptitude
   
• Total Questions: 120 (60 in each part)
   
• Marks: 1 mark per question

Paper 2 – Subject-Specific Paper

• Based on the candidate’s Postgraduate (PG) subject.
   
• Total Questions: 120 questions (1 mark each).
   
• For Mathematics and Statistics, 80 questions carrying 1.5 marks each.

Kerala SET 2026 Subjects

The Kerala SET exam will be conducted in 31 subjects, including English, Malayalam, Hindi, Arabic, Tamil, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, Economics, Commerce, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Philosophy, Physics and more.

Before applying for LBS SET 2026, applicants must ensure they meet the SET January 2026 eligibility, shown in below :

Educational Qualification

• Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade.
• B.Ed. Degree in any discipline from a recognized university in Kerala or equivalent.

Exceptions

• For subjects such as Commerce, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Journalism, Music, French, Statistics and Syriac, B.Ed. is not required.
• M.Sc.Ed. degree holders in science subjects from NCERT-sponsored Regional Institutes are also eligible.
• Final-year PG or B.Ed. candidates can apply provisionally, but they must pass the qualifying exam within one year of the SET result.

There is no age limit to appear for Kerala SET.
