1. Kerala PSC HSST Chemistry Exam 2023

The HSST Chemistry exam was gazetted in the years 2019 and 2021 for HSST Chemistry (Junior-Part time). And the HSST Chemistry notification for 2023 is yet to release. The minimum eligibility to apply for this post is to hold 50% marks in their post-graduation obtained from any University in Kerala or a University accredited by the Government of Kerala and a B.Ed. degree in the concerned subject.

The cut-offs for the previous exam indicate the difficulty level of this exam. For example, in the year 2019, the cut-off was 27.67. The HSST Chemistry exam (Category No.740/2021) will be held on 15th May 2023 along with the Non-Vocational Teacher in Chemistry exams. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website from 29th April 2023.

2. HSST Chemistry Syllabus 2023: Its Importance

The Syllabus for HSST Chemistry follows a Post Graduate level and hence the candidate must know the core syllabus well. It is always recommended to start from basics using the NCERT/ SCERT 11th and 12th textbooks for candidates who start after a considerable gap after their masters. Also learning from standard textbooks as well as practicing previous year question papers of CSIR NET, GATE, TIFR, etc. can be an added advantage to crack this exam. The Higher Secondary School Teacher or HSST (Chemistry) follows an elaborate syllabus with four main parts viz., part-I or Core subject (Chemistry), part-II or Teaching Aptitude & Research Methodology, part-III or Indian Constitution & Legislation and part-IV or General Affairs.
