How to face Descriptive Level PSC Exams in future?

Are you all tensed with the new announcement of Kerala Public Service Commission? PSC old Chairman Mr. M K Sakeer has made a recent announcement regarding the change of the whole exam pattern (OMR) into descriptive type. This increased the heart beats of many of the PSC aspirants. The question is whether we have to panic on this situation? Is this going to happen soon? Anyway, the whole objective exam pattern is being changed to the descriptive pattern since it is a time taking process. If the valuation of OMR exams is taking months and years, we can imagine the time period of a descriptive evaluation. However, we cannot argue on this topic saying that this will never happen. In the year 2017, the authority had openly discussed on the change of single stage exams to two stages of exams. Though they have made the announcement for the following year, it took four years for the commission to make it practically possible. Since the descriptive exam is much more complicated, an in-depth question paper preparation and other processes will take time. The competitive exams demanding higher degrees as the minimum qualification will be conducted in two stages as usual, but there is a slight difference. The preliminary exam will be OMR type and the secondary stage will be descriptive type. This was a decision taken in the year 2018, but it didn’t happen due to the difficulties in the valuation process.
In 2013, for an SI exam, the candidates expected two stages of exam. But those who have written the mains exam was shortlisted. The plan of conducting descriptive exam was thus a failure. That means, if it is a descriptive exam, there should be a detailed strategy, and scrupulous preparation for executing the plan. The decision of two stages of exam was taken in 2017, but it happened in August 2020. Assistant Professor Exams in Colleges are conducted by following the descriptive pattern of exam. Why this is possible in such kind of exams? Because the number of candidates is less as compared to the other exams. If this rule happens in the near future, after Higher secondary and high school exams, it will be experimented in LP-UP exams. If you are considering the positive aspect, this is the best time for you to learn everything deeply by following a vast reading strategy. For the statement type of questions, we can expect questions from any of the subject areas. So, we should be well prepared to face any type of question. In short, you don’t need to worry much on facing these kinds of competitive exams. Start practicing questions every day and make it a habit. If you do so, then you will be able to attend the descriptive mode of exam without any tension.
