KTET Service Candidates Exam Results 2023

Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test aka KTET convened by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan conducted its Service category exam exclusively for candidates already in service but haven’t yet qualified for KTET. The exam was conducted in September 2023, however, the results that should have been out by October have not been released so far. This is a special recruitment drive for candidates who had already been recruited as teachers in the period from 1^st June 2012 to 30^th August 2016 affiliated to the terms and services of the Kerala Public Service Commission. Further, the application inclusivity is also added to teachers who have worked in the Aided Service since 1^st June 2016 till the 2019-2020 academic year. As far as the notification is concerned, candidates belonging to other than the above mentioned categories are not eligible to apply.

What is KTET?

KTET is a qualifying exam conducted by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan to enhance the quality of education as well as to prepare teachers to combat all kinds of challenges that can be expected in various levels of schooling. This exam was mandated as per the RTE Act of 2009 to ensure the quality of teaching which in turn will drastically strengthen the education system in the state.

The main key objectives behind this implementation of KTET are given below,

To bring about a national level standard and quality in teacher recruitment.
To enhance the quality of Teachers' Education Centers and Institutes, along with the students affiliated to such centers.
Also, to make a significant effort to acknowledge the Government initiatives in promoting the quality of education in the state.

As per the 2009 RTE Act, Section-2 N(i) & (ii) provision mentions certain state or regional government schools run on this specificity.

KTET Syllabus

KTET exams conducted for various categories viz., K1, K2, K3, and K4 follow the standard syllabus as denoted in the following official websites.

Candidates should take note that obtaining a mere KTET qualification will not be considered the sole eligibility to get recruited as a teacher. There are other eligibility conditions like age mandated by the respective recruiting body.

KTET Cutoff Scores

As per the Government circular, the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan mandates 60% or 90 marks for the General category, 55% or 82 marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ OEC, and 50% or 75 marks for the Physically Handicapped category.

KTET Age limit

KTET exam can be attempted by any age group alike however the candidates should check the age limit criteria for each recruiting body specifically.
